Record-Breaking Voyages: A Tale of Maritime Triumph

Spirit of Portsmouth

A bit of history. Twenty-six years ago, Dr. Jan Falkowski, Steve Lloyd, and Alan Priddy crossed the finishing line in Monaco after leaving Tower Bridge in London in 99 hours, 12 minutes, and 16 seconds.

They had four fuel stops: Guernsey, La Coruna, Vigo, and Denia. They said they could do it in less than 100 hours, and they did.

There was fame and glory in Monaco for a while, and one of our team T-shirts was hung on the wall of the famous Stars and Bars.

In 2000, they did it again, but this time non-stop from Cardiff to Monaco, breaking the Cable and Wireless record from Gibraltar to Monaco in the process.

We can feel another world record coming on!
